ALMA (Austin Latino Music Association Partnership)
A portion of every ticket sold to Pachanga will be donated to ALMA.
The mission of ALMA is to increase knowledge and awareness in the community about local musicians and important historical figures in Austin’s Latino music scene, provide exposure and resources to local musicians, and foster the development of young musicians who will keep Latino musical styles and traditions alive in the Capitol City.
ALMA also organizes Latino Music Month. This May, dozens of Hispanic artists across a wide variety of genres will be performing across 70 plus venues around Austin. For more information and a complete schedule click here.
Community Outreach - Pachanga Youth Education Program
Pachanga organizers have partnered with Austin Energy to create a community arts education program serving school children in the Holly Street neighborhood.
Pachanga is creating music education and sound recording workshops for Metz and Sanchez Elementary Schools, Martin Middle School and Johnston High School. Additionally, Pachanga is bringing in local artists who are performing at the festival to play in school shows at each of these schools to expose school age kids to live music.
Check back for photos and audio recordings from these special events.
